In 1988 Rotary pledged to the world to end polio – and we are delivering on that pledge.

Today, polio cases have been reduced by 99.9%. Polio remains endemic in only two counties, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Results like these happen because of the commitment and intense drive of Rotary as an organization and the collective work of individual Rotarians. And funding. Funding is critical to support the commitment and on-the-ground efforts to end polio.

Oct. 24 is World Polio Day. Rotarians around the world are planning creative and engaging events to raise vital funds in the fight to end polio. From community fundraisers and special events to awareness campaigns, Rotary members continue to demonstrate their commitment to a polio-free world. Fight polio and spend healthy time with other Rotarians. These remarkable achievements are a powerful reminder of what is possible when people unite around a common cause.

These efforts make an incredible impact. During the 2024-2025 Rotary year, Rotarians raised $132.8 million for the PolioPlus Fund. Even more impressive, Rotary members have contributed $2.5 billion to PolioPlus since the program began, helping protect millions of children from this devastating disease.

Every dollar raised brings us closer to eradicating polio forever. You can help! Sign up through your club to participate in our District’s World’s Largest Polio Walk.
