District 6250 continues to see positive membership momentum, reaching 2,217 members as of March 1, which is a net gain for the Rotary year. Please regularly update your club roster to help district leaders better track membership trends and plan major events.

Other news shows that Rotary International will also soon introduce a new system for managing prospective member inquiries, helping clubs connect more easily with people interested in joining Rotary. Stay tuned for more information on this.

I can’t believe how fast this Rotary year is flying by as we are in our last four months! I have some very exciting news for our District as of March 1st. We are currently sitting with 2,217 members, or +8 year to date! It is very exciting to see that we are remaining net positive at this point in the Rotary year! Let’s keep the ball rolling towards our first positive net gain year in a while.

I know that many clubs “clean up” their roster in June, trying to get the next year’s dues etc. in order. I’d challenge you to try and do this monthly or at least quarterly if at all possible. This gives our District Leadership a better finger on the pulse for how clubs and the District is actually doing. It will also assist in planning for large meetings such as PETS and Tri-Con. Thank you again for all that you do in working to build and retain your membership.

After a long wait, Rotary International will soon be rolling out a new way to manage prospective members, and it starts at the Club level rather than attempting to be managed from the District level. Here is the latest information that was published in the RI Membership Minuteon February 18:

Coming soon: An enhanced system for managing prospective members

Each year, more than 30,000 people visit rotary.org/join and express interest in joining a Rotary or Rotaract club. Rotary will soon launch a new system that club and district leaders can use to manage these inquiries (formerly called “membership leads”). The system lets membership candidates choose the Rotary or Rotaract club that most closely matches their interests and needs. When they submit an inquiry, leaders of that club will receive an email notification. District leaders will also use the system to assign inquiries to new clubs if the candidate doesn’t join the initial club.

In the coming weeks, watch for an announcement that the new system for managing prospective members is live, and learn how your clubs can connect with membership candidates!
