Last March 24, progress made on building a greenhouse at Northside Elementary/Coulee Montessori with help from volunteers, teachers, and community members, led by the Rotary Cub of La Crosse-After Hours. The greenhouse is 70% completed, with one more build day left. Madison South Rotary Club held an offsite meeting at McKenzie Regional Workforce Development Center. Mike Dillis introduced Michael Johnson, highlighting their friendship. The center, debt-free due to infrastructure funds and donations, has a $25M youth endowment. They help students transition to the workforce. A successful entrepreneur emerged from business plan training. Students learn various skills and trades. A captivating presentation was given at the Rotary Club of Eau Claire's recent meeting by Dr. Scott Hebbring, a Research Scientist specializing in Genetics at the Center for Human Genetics, Marshfield Clinic Research Institute. Just recently, the Holmen Area Rotary Club donated $1500 to the La Crosse County Library for the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program.
