Eau Claire Rotary Club members spent part of Saturday, September 14 talking with visitors who stopped by the Rotary booth at the 35th Fall Festival hosted by DECI (Downtown Eau Claire Inc). The weather started off as "iffy," said President TJ, but turned itself around and crowds thronged the streets. The Rotary Club of Eau Claire was one of 160 vendors at the downtown event.

Those who came to the Rotary booth were able to "Give Polio the Finger" by having a fingernail painted purple. This symbol of hope for a polio-free world comes from the real-world actions of polio vaccinators who paint the little finger of the left hand with a purple dye to indicate someone has received the oral polio vaccine (OPV). The dye is harmless and fades away over a few days. The purple mark is a way to help health workers quickly identify people who have been vaccinated and those who have not.

Thank you to members who organized and helped staff the booth in order to spread the word about Rotary and Rotary's efforts to eliminate polio.
