Jake is originally from Long Lake, Minnesota, but is a proud Wisconsin Badger at heart. Since graduating from UW-Madison with a degree in Biology and African Studies, Jake's passion for public health has taken him across the globe. He has conducted research on injecting drug use in India, facilitated psychosocial support groups for HIV+ adolescents in Tanzania, taught English and guest lectured for courses on international development, and is currently supporting a project to increase access to modern contraception and reproductive health services in Laos. Now, he finds himself yearning for higher education, and plans to study for a Masters in Public Health for Development at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine next year! In his free time, Jake enjoys rock climbing, learning languages, and traveling the world in search of the best cup of coffee. He is thrilled to join the Rotary community as a Global Grant Scholar and is looking forward to an exciting and impactful year in London!
