DISTRICT 6250 INFORMATION

 

Meet  2008 - 2009  District 6250 Governor  Tom Marshall
Rotary - Make Dreams Real

Tom MarshallTom is a native of Wisconsin and calls Jefferson his home.  He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Wisconsin Rapids for 31 years.  He has served as a Club Secretary, Vice President and was Club President in 1985-1986.  He also served as President of Club Foundation and served as the club’s Youth Exchange Officer for 28 years.

His involvement with District 6250 includes serving as Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Coordinator for the past 30 years.  Tom serves as Assistant Governor with PDG’s Don Abraham and Don Mayo.  He is a two time Paul Harris Fellow and attended the International Conventions in Kansas City, Montreal and Chicago.

Professionally, Tom’s career has been dedicated to education.  He received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a Doctorate from the University of Wyoming in Counseling Psychology.  He retired in 2004 as Director of Student Services for the Wisconsin Rapids School System.

His dedication to service has included his community as well as Rotary.  He has served as; President of United Way of South Wood County; President of John E. Alexander YMCA of South Wood County; Member of the Board of Directors for 27 years; Co-President of South Wood County Cancer Drive; President of the Board of Directors and co-founder Wisconsin Rapids Area Adult Day Care Center; Currently co-chair of Wisconsin Rapids are community initiative team (Improve economical development in the area); Vice President of Public Relation with local Chamber of Commerce and serves as a member of several committees with Community Foundation of South Wood County.

He is two time recipient of the “Citizen of the Year” honor for the greater Wisconsin Rapids Area in years 2004 and 1987.  He is only the second person in forty seven years who has received this award more than once.

Tom enjoys sports and is a loyal fan of the Wisconsin Badgers.  He will talk sports with anyone, anytime.  He and his wife Joey have three children, Jenny, Chris, and Ben who all live in Colorado.
